Heaters

Fired Heaters, often referred to as furnaces (direct fired heaters), are pieces of equipment often used in processing facilities to heat gases or liquids up to a desired temperature.

• Direct fired
In a direct fired heater, the gas is fed directly to the burner while the airstream provides the needed oxygen for combustion. Air is forced through the burner baffle where it mixes with the gas. The burner is installed to fire with, and parallel to, the airflow.

• Indirect fired heaters
Indirect-fired heaters are similar to oil- or gas-burning furnaces with chimneys in homes. In such units, a flame in a burn chamber warms the heat exchanger. The device draws cool air into two different chambers. The air passes over and around the heat exchanger and gets warm.
